Prince William and Princess Catherine have returned to the UK from their 10-day honeymoon in the Seychelles, St James’s Palace has said. Royal officials had earlier declined to confirm where the Prince William and Princess Catherine were staying though media speculation had focussed on the Indian Ocean archipelago.

 The palace said Prince William and Princess Catherine had “thoroughly enjoyed their time together.” Seychelles Foreign Affairs minister Jean-Paul Adam was among senior government officials and diplomats who saw off the royal couple, Prince William and Princess Catherine at the Zil Air airport on Friday afternoon.

Prince William and his new wife Catherine hired a $3.2 million yacht for a treasure islands tour of The Seychelles, The Sun reported Tuesday. The royal honeymooners, Prince William and Princess Catherine spent a day cruising between former pirate hideouts Praslin and La Digue. A source said, "It may be The Seychelles but the area is like something out of 'Pirates of the Caribbean.' There are tropical swamps and the most spectacular wildlife you can imagine."

The day out came amid the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Princess Catherine's ten-day honeymoon at a secret island in the Indian Ocean archipelago. Prince William and Princess Catherine were married in London's Westminster Abbey on April 29.

The private island is one of the top romantic getaways among honeymooners. North Island was developed into a private resort in 2003. One of its main attractions, as its website boasts, is that it provides the “very best in privacy, location, accommodation, services, facilities and experience.” The royal couple, Prince William and Princess Catherine's 10-day stay reportedly costs £450,000 ($690,449) although it did not say if they will pay the bill themselves.

British media said the pair, Prince William and Princess Catherine jetted off Tuesday to the Seychelles, a string of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean about 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) off the eastern coast of Kenya. Prince William and Princess Catherine are reportedly staying on the archipelago’s secluded North Island, some 19 miles (30 kilometers) away from the capital of Victoria.

The website quoted security sources who said the attack on bin Laden in Pakistan meant the palace would be eager to contain the Royal couple in the UK. But the Daily Mail reports a spokesman for the Palace said Prince William and Catherine's honeymoon delay was a personal decision.
