Almost Famous


Our vacation hasn't even really started and we had dinner with Steven Spielberg and my name is all over the newspaper! Sounds impressive I know..the truth is I was mentioned as a source in a recent Newsday article on second marriages see:

and after much speculation and a whispering session with a waitress who spoke very little English, it was determined that the man looking very much like Steven Spielberg was indeed a Hollywood director. My son thinking that this would be a great story to tell anyone who would listen insisted that we buy Steven a Japanese soda and send it to him with our compliments. So we did. Yup, it was Spielberg and he acknowledged us with a wave thanking us as we left.
The comments that we have gotten however start with "oh, yeah...he needed you guys to buy him a soda.." to "why didn't you buy him a bottle of wine?" Guys it was my 15 year old son's idea and a soda is cute and harmless plus it is also non intrusive. We acknowledged his presence and showed him we appreciated his genius without gushing or rushing over to bother him at dinner. Very classy I thought.
Any way I will be vacationing for a week and thought I would load you up with some visions of sunsets and pink beach sand.....see you soon...
